Transit to The Duquesne Incline, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Public Transportation to
The Duquesne
Incline
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania
From/To Downtown Pittsburgh:
33X West Busway All-Stops (provides service between Downtown Pittsburgh and West Busway Stations and Stops, and The Duquesne Incline, approximately at 20 to 30-minute intervals)
100 West Busway All-Stops --Rush-Hour Service Only (provides service between Downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland Civic Center, and West Busway Stations and Stops, and The Duquesne Incline, approximately at 20 to 30-minute intervals, during rush-hours on weekdays only)
28X Airport Flyer - (provides service between Pittsburgh International Airport, Robinson Towne Center, and The Duquesne Incline, approximately at 20 to 30-minute intervals)
Additionally, bus routes listed below also provide service to The Duquesne Incline from Downtown Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle and certain West End neighborhoods.
Public transportation, between the Lower Station of The Duquesne Incline
and Downtown
Pittsburgh, is provided by the Port Authority Transit(PAT) system,
operated by the
Port
Authority of Allegheny County, by bus
routes serving
the West End and South Hills sections of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
Frequent bus service is provided by bus routes with the numerical
prefixes 21, 26, 31, 36*, and also Express route 28B. In Downtown
Pittsburgh,
these
bus routes can be boarded at designated stops(check the bus
stop signs for specific route numbers) on Stanwix Street,
Penn Avenue, and at the bus stop on Liberty Avenue next to the
Hilton Hotel.
* Bus Route 36A does NOT serve The Duquesne Incline, nor the city's West End, as do all other routes with the numerical prefix 36. Instead, Route 36A uses the Fort Pitt Tunnel to go straight to Banksville Road and continue into the South Hills.
All Port Authority Transit(PAT) passes, tickets, tokens, and current
transfers(including free "CT" continuation transfers) can be used
to pay
for
transportation on the Duquesne Incline.
*Senior Citizens may ride The Duquesne Incline, as well as PAT buses and Light Rail Transit vehicles,
for no charge, subsidized by the
Pennsylvania
Lottery.
*Passengers with Disabilities may ride The Duquesne Incline,
as well as PAT buses, at half of the published rate of fare during
off-peak hours, only, mandated by Section 504 of the Federal
Rehabilitation Act
of 1973, as amended. For more information
