One-Way Fares:

Adults -- $2.50 *** Children (ages 6-11) -- $1.25
Children (ages 5 and younger) FREE, when accompanied by adult

Senior Citizens (ages 65 and older) -- FREE when showing proper identification.
NOW FREE AT ALL TIMES; there are no longer any restricted hours for using the Senior Citizen Pass or Medicare Card !

Disabled Passengers -- HALF-FARE when showing proper identification except two hours during business days:

7:00 - 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.


Round-Trip Fares:

* Special Note: With the transit fare increases of 2002 September 1, the cost of the paid transfer [for travel from The Duquesne Incline to areas beyond Downtown Pittsburgh] has risen from 25 cents to 50 cents. With the transit fare increases of 2010 January 1, the cost of the paid transfer [for travel from The Duquesne Incline to areas beyond Downtown Pittsburgh] has risen from 50 cents to 75 cents. With the transit fare increases of 2011 January 1, the cost of the paid transfer [for travel from The Duquesne Incline to areas beyond Downtown Pittsburgh] has risen from 75 cents to one dollar. Children (ages 6 to 11) and the Disabled will be charged half the cost of the adult transfer charge for the paid transfer; previously, they paid 10 cents (until 2002 September 1), 25 cents (until 2010 January 1), 35 cents (until 2011 January 1), and today 50 cents for the paid transfer. "CT" Continuation Transfers, for travel from the Lower Station of The Duquesne Incline into Downtown Pittsburgh, are still free-of-charge.


The Duquesne Incline accepts all Port Authority Transit PASSES, TICKETS, and CURRENT TRANSFERS (including free "CT" continuation transfers) as payment for a one-way Incline ride.

Special Note: As of 2002 September 1, Incline Tokens are discontinued, as a means of payment for a ride on The Duquesne Incline.
